The Lady Bulldog softball team had a rough trip to Fayetteville last Thursday when they faced the defending champs.
Greenwood suffered a five inning 11-0 rule defeat at Dawg Yard.
Amanda Summerford pitched a great game against Greenwood pitching all five innings striking out nine batters and shutting the Bulldogs out.
Chelsea Hartman was the lone player to reach base for the Bulldogs. Hartman hit a single in the third inning.
"Fayetteville hit the ball well," said Head Coach Jim Hillman. "They are a solid team and we made some mistakes. Plus we have never seen a pitcher quite like Summerford and may not again."
But the reason we go and play teams like Fayetteville is to find out where we are as a team and what we are capable of.
I would like to start solidifying who is going to play where," said Hillman. "We have some freshmen that are showing some promise this years so we are waiting on that as well."
The Lady Bulldog's next game will be in Morrilton on March 11 and their next home game will be March 13th at 4:30 when they take on Prairie Grove.
