In girls doubles action, Greenwood's #1 combo of Maria Geoly and Hailey Rice lost 3-8, while the duo of Lindsay Gills and Abigail Woodring won 8-4.
In boys singles, the Bulldogs' top player Andrew Anderson lost 5-8, and David Woodring lost 5-8. In boys doubles, the GHS team of Paxton Evans and Kenny Sweeney lost 5-8, while Johnny Tammaruth and Carson Loyd lost 1-7.
This past Tuesday Greenwood easily topped the Grizzlies and Lady Bears of Northside, winning four of five girls matches and six of eight boys contests.
In girls doubles, Geoly and Gills teamed up for an 8-4 victory, while Rice and Kristen Keene won 8-2. Greenwood's Amber Alzufari and Madie Pelt also won 8-2. In ladies singles, Olivia Gaston earned an easy 8-1 victory, while Darian Wilson lost 3-8.
In varsity boys doubles, the GHS duo of Anderson and Evans won 8-1, while David Woodring and Kenny Sweeney also won 8-1.
In singles play, Greenwood's Paxton Evans lost 3-8, but the Bulldogs won the remainder of the varsity matches, including Andrew Anderson (8-3), David Woodring (8-1), Johnny Tammaruth (8-2), and Kenny Sweeney (8-2). Greenwood sophomore Austin Shown lost 0-6 in junior varsity play.
