Greenwood High School bowling teams participated in post-season tournaments last week. The Lady Bulldogs bowling team competed in the combined 7A/6A state tournament held at Allfam Bowling Center in Cabot.
Greenwood was one of four Class 6A teams to take part in the girls state bowling tournament last week. The other 6A teams included Texarkana, Searcy, and Mountain Home. Cabot, Fayetteville, Bentonville, Springdale, Rogers and Mount St. Mary's represented Class 7A.
While Cabot won the overall competition with a total of 3,724 pins, and had the top two individual bowlers, Greenwood placed ninth with 2,757 pins. Senior Kelsey Knox led the Lady Bulldogs with a three-game total of 493 pins, bowling games of 160, 162, and 171, and earned All-State honors.
Greenwood's Madison Zollicoffer rolled a 412 series (128,128,156), while teammate Sydney Parker scored a 386 (119,134,133). Mikayleigh Davis tallied 385 pins (129,118,138), Kezia Schibbelhut 292 pins (110,91,91), and Emily Price rolled a 283 series (104,88,91). The head coach for the GHS bowling teams is Trey Holloway.
