Greenwood made the journey to Harrison last Tuesday, April 17th, for a conference doubleheader with the Goblins, winning both games in convincing fashion, 9-2 and 5-0.
Freshman Landry Jurecka pitched a seven-inning complete game in the opening, giving up two runs on just three hits, while striking out four.
Connor Noland, who earned the second game pitching victory, gave Jurecka an early lead with a first inning homerun, a two-run blast to left center after a two-out double by Peyton Holt.
Greenwood led 2-0 after two frames, then added on with a single run in the third, two in the fourth, one more in the fifth, and three additional runs in the sixth. Harrison got both of its runs in the sixth.
The Bulldogs raked for 11 hits, three of them by Holt, including a homerun and a pair of doubles, plus two RBIs and three runs scored. Jake Smith added two hits as well.
In the nightcap, Noland was his usual brilliant self, allowing just two hits over seven innings while fanning 15 Goblins’ hitters. The Diamond ‘Dogs scored three times in the third inning and twice more in the fifth for the 5-0 shutout victory.
At the plate, Blake Pschier, Jackson Webb, and Landry Jurecka all had two hits each for Greenwood, and Brandon Woolsey drove home two runs.
