Connor Noland was on the hill against Alma in a 10-0 shutout home victory over the rival Airedales, also members of the 6A/5A-1 conference. The GHS ace allowed just four hits in the game, issuing a single free pass while striking out eight Alma hitters.
The Diamond ‘Dogs plated a single run in the first inning, two in the second, four in the fourth, one more in the fifth, and two more tallies in the sixth to invoke the mercy rule and stop the game after six frames. Alma’s two errors meant that two of Greenwood’s runs were unearned.
Offensively, six Bulldogs had multiple hits, led by Peyton Holt with three, a single, double, and triple, plus two RBIs and two runs scored. Jake Smith, Blake Pschier, Connor Noland, Landry Jurecka, and Chance Eoff all had two hits each. Jackson Webb and Cooper Passmore both had two RBIs.
